August 2006 A.A. (after alaska) Muir Wood California-

For those who don't know, Muir Woods is a forest full of Red woods, north of San francisco, on the other side of the Golden Gate.

Fun Facts: The redwood is the state tree of California. They are the tallest living organisims in the world (up to 370 ft). The redwood is a prehistoric tree. All trees are decendents of the redwood. They survived the Ice Ages due to their location on the coastline of the Pacific. Many redwoods are over 2000 years old. Its bark can be up to a foot in thickness.
